VMS With Smart Sensor
Digital Watchdog has partnered with IPVideo Corporation’s HALO IoT Smart Sensor for easy integration into DW Spectrum IPVMS. The HALO sensor delivers a MJPEG stream that alerts users when environmental changes occur in typically unsupervised areas. HALO can detect flammables, hazardous chemicals, air quality changes (including vaping and smoking) and changes in temperature and humidity. Noise level fluctuations can also be detected along with room occupancy through light detection. The new alerts combine with DW Spec- trum’s high-resolution quality video, e-mail notifi- cations and alarm monitoring tools. IPVideo said that DW’s K-12 customers will immediately benefit from HALO’s vaping and THC detection capabilities.

Troubleshooting Assistant
Milestone Systems released a troubleshooting assistant for partners and customers using Mile- stone XProtect video solutions. The self-help online tool enables users to identify causes of issues and leads them toward a step-by-step resolution. Com- mon problems faced by users include being unable to log into the Smart Client, being unable to add a camera and/or having server performance issues. Milestone’s new assistant leads users through a branching process where users can select answers to questions that become more specific to the issue they are facing. The assistant is now available 24/7 to help users resolve issues and optimize their sys- tems for end-users. Milestone will regularly update the troubleshooting assistant and add more guides to address common issues as needed.

Cloud-Based Security Interface
Connected Technologies is extending its custom- ization services for its Connect ONE cloud-hosted management interface to address the needs of the security dealer market. The company aims to help dealers manage their integrations that gives decision-making power to the customer, allowing them to decide if they want to manage the security solution, have the integrator manage it or blend and customize the levels of management and report- ing to meet security parameters. The interface is designed for commercial offices, retail, storage or multifamily developments. One application cited by the company was the programing of schools so that door alarms, panic buttons and card readers trigger on-screen alerts.

Cybersecurity Analysis Services
Karamba Security announced that it has signed agreements for securing 1 million connected de- vices through its suite of cybersecurity services, particularly its flagship software integrity solution XGuard/Carwall. Those services include Threat Analysis (TARA) methods based on ISO21434, which provides manufacturers with accurate, complete insight to meet industry security requirements. The software also protects connected devices against cyber attacks by helping manufacturers identify se- curity gaps in software. The suite covers the entire device lifecycle from design to operations with no development and operations process modification. One method of doing so is Karamba’s VCode, an open and modular platform that analyzes binaries during the build process.
