Industrial Ethernet Switches
TRENDnet has added three new unmanaged switches to its line of Industrial Fast Ethernet DIN- Rail Switches, including a PoE+ switch and two standard, non-PoE switches. The switches offer a cost-effective solution for adding switches to network devices that do not usually require a high throughput, including IP cameras and access con- trol panels. Users can save setup time and installa- tion cost by delivering power and data with a single cable. The switches have a wide operating tem- perature range for extreme operating conditions, starting from -167° F. The two models include an alarm triggered by power failure. All models include DIN-Rail mount and wall mount brackets for instal- lation flexibility as well as a fanless design.

Access Control App
ProdataKey introduced its Touch app for Apple and Android devices, which is now available for free to all PDK customers. The app, which is compatible with all pdk io systems and all doorways regard- less of the type of reader, allows users to unlock entrances remotely with the push of a button on the mobile app. Only entryways matching the user’s permission level will be available to unlock doors. System administrators must enable the fea- ture within the PDK software. Employers can limit use of the app to certain employees, if desired, who are at a managerial level or above. The app offers convenience to users who want to stop carrying a physical credential and to managers who consis- tently need to remotely unlock doors to admit visi- tors and delivery people.

High-Performance Body Armor
PPSS Group introduced its next generation of high-performance body armor made from Auxilam, a unique carbon fiber composite material designed to protect the wearer from edged weapons and shanks. Compared with the U.K.-based company’s polycarbonate-based stab resistant vests, the new line of body armor has a reduced thickness and a lower aerial density that makes it more lightweight. Government agencies and security companies are now able to choose from an array of different styles, including covert, overt and hi-viz overt options. The armor also provides VPAM-certified protection from blunt objects, aiming to reduce the impact of blunt force trauma and internal bleeding. PPSS custom- izes the line for different applications.

Video Intercom App
Aiphone released a mobile app available to new and existing installations of the popular GT Se- ries multi-tenant video intercom. Using the app, customers can now screen visitors directly from a smartphone whether they are at home or away. Tenants will be required to have the new GT-TLI- IP mobile app network adaptor in order to use the app, which allows them to answer calls, unlock doors, view video and conduct two-way conver- sations in WiFi, 3G, or 4G communications. Cus- tomers can also control two automations from the app, such as gates and lights. Activating the app is simple, requiring a scan of a QR code linked to the installed adaptor. GT Series intercoms also in- tegrate with security cameras, providing a wider view of an entry area.

Video Management System
Johnson Controls has updated its signature VMS with the release of exacqVision VMS 19.12, which offers new ONVIF 2-way audio support and more camera license deployment flexibility for Enter- prise Manager customers. The new ONVIF camera integration supports the ability to talk and listen through IP cameras equipped with audio I/O. Busi- nesses that utilize entryway cameras to authorize visitors will benefit from the ability to immediately communicate with visitors. Managers can also now bulk purchase camera licenses stored within the system. Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) stream management is also now built into the ex- acqVision server, making it easier for users to con- figure a livestream directly from the client.

Enterprise Security System
LenelS2 has introduced OnGuard version 7.6, its latest enterprise security management system of- fering new features to its access control platform along with extending its cloud compatibility. The updated system makes it easier for administrators to deploy and operate the system, with new conve- nience for mobile browser-based clients. OnGuard 7.6 also includes a dynamic new reader/alarm pan- el interface, the LNL-1324e, which enables doors to be connected to an OnGuard platform using either structured cabling or via the onboard Ethernet for easier installation. In addition, this version of the system includes a new BlueDiamond Active Cre- dentials option that enables administrators to see the quantity of currently active mobile credentials on the server.
