SECURITY TODAY SOLUTIONS
Anti-Malware Protection
Genetec announced a partnership with Cylance, a business unit of Blackberry, to bring artificial intel- ligence antivirus protection to appliances custom- ers. Genetec now offers additional cybersecurity protection to its StreamVault line of infrastructure solutions by including CylancePROTECT at no addi- tional cost to its users. All of Genetec’s products are expected to have the software pre-installed when they are shipped to customers, starting in Septem- ber. The protection software protects endpoints and organizations by using AI to block malware infec- tions and implementing additional controls that safeguard against script-based, file-less memory and external device-based attacks. The product distinguishes itself by using machine learning, not signatures, to identify and block known and unknown malware from running without using an internet connection.

Shared Occupancy Controllers
Nortech offers two Shared Occupancy Controllers that are compact, standalone units that control ac- cess for groups of users sharing the same park- ing facility. The CPC204 controller can provide full access control to parking that is shared by up to four independent user groups, providing the sys- tem manager with usage monitoring. The system also prevents each user group from exceeding its allocated number of parking spaces and works with almost any barrier/gate system. The CRC202 con- troller works in a similar fashion, but can be used for up to two user groups. Controllers provide a range of access control functions such as restrict- ing parking to certain times of the day, preventing abuse of pass cards and supporting visitor man- agement using group-specific PIN codes.
