Fastlane Turnstiles
Smarter Security introduces its new Fastlane Glassgate 155 turnstiles that can reduce the risk of “sidegating,” the practice of two people attempting unauthorized side-by-side entry through a turnstile. The turnstiles feature new optical technology to detect and prevent sidegating, which is becoming more common as turnstiles expand to comfortably fit wheelchairs passing through security. An intel- ligent infrared matrix powered by neutral network algorithms senses who is going through the turn- stile in real time and makes thousands of calcula- tions per second to determine if entry should be authorized. In addition, the system can distinguish between people and objects to minimize nuisance alarms. The company says the turnstiles are the first of their kind to identify and alert when sidegat- ing is occurring.

Remote Video Monitoring Platform
ABP Technology launched a remote monitoring and management platform, called MxMSP, that helps improve its MOBOTIX video surveillance cam- era deployments by giving integrators and technol- ogy partners the capability to securely monitor and manage deployments from a remote location. The cloud-based platform works by maintaining secure connections to all cameras, all network-attached storage and other connected IoT devices. MxMSP also allows for integrators to create their own branded video surveillance services with the ability to view video, analytics and more, boosting profits for those providers. MOBOTIX camera equipment is pre-configured for easy setup with MxMSP, and the partner providers can remotely connect to all devices as soon as they are plugged in.

Anti-Terrorist Bollards
Safetyflex is offering a wide-ranging series of “an- ti-terrorism bollards” that are specially designed to stop 7.5-ton vehicles and vans from vehicle attacks on stadiums, shopping centers, theme parks and event venues. The company has already installed the slimline bollards in major cities in the United Kingdom, United States and Australia. Bollards have been shown to still be standing after being hit head-on by vehicles going at high speeds while leaving the vehicle immobilized. The bollards can either be fixed or removable, and have been de- signed to be more aesthetically pleasing and slim- mer than previous barrier models. The bollards are unique in that they are manufactured using a special composition of spring steel that allow them to absorb extreme amounts of energy thanks to its flex technology.
