Vehicle and Driver Identification Tags
Nortech is now offering long-range vehicle and driver identification tags to grant seamless access to approaching vehicles. The tags are ideal for use in staff car parks, for priority vehicle control, indus- trial site access control, fleet and parking manage- ment. Key features include simultaneous driver and vehicle identification, a reading distance of up to 10m, and easy windshield mounting with suction pads and maximum perimeter security. The TRANSIT Prox Booster (120-125 KHz), SMARTCARD Booster (13.56MHz) and SMARTCARD Booster Ultimate (2.45GHz and 433MHz) enable long range driver- based identification. Driver-based ID systems, a building access card and in-vehicle booster ensure that a vehicle can never gain access to a secured area unless occupied by an authorized driver.

PoE Extenders
Omnitron Systems introduces new OmniConverter PoE Extenders. OmniConverter PoE Extenders en- able the delivery of full-rate Ethernet data and Pow- er over Ethernet (PoE) over standard twisted pair cabling, and break through the 100-meter standard Ethernet distance barrier. Utilizing Omnitron’s ex- clusive power-boosting technology, the extenders can be daisy-chained to deliver Ethernet data and IEEE standard POE power to multiple PoE Powered Devices (PDs) at distances up to 800 meters (2,625 feet). OmniConverter PoE Extenders interoperate with IEEE 802.3af PoE (15W), IEEE 802.3at PoE+ (30W), and High-Power PoE (60W) Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) and Powered Devices (PDs). Om- niConverter PoE Extenders are available in 30 Watt or 60 Watt models, and with one or two PD ports.

Micro Camera
Johnson Controls has launched the Pro 2MP Mi- cro camera for installations where a low-profile, high-performance surveillance camera is required. The Pro 2MP Micro includes a lens that can be placed up to 20 feet away from the power supply as well as wide dynamic range to balance scenes where bright backlighting can be a challenge. The Micro also operates at a minimum illumination of 0.01 Lux and thus facilitates excellent low light per- formance without the need for IR illumination. The discrete form factor makes it a choice option for banking and ATM deployments. Additionally, the Pro Micro includes corridor mode for improved viewing in hallways and other narrow scenarios. There is no added licensing cost for the Pro Micro when added to VideoEdge Network Video Recorders (NVRs). Powerful technologies are built-in to the Pro 2MP Micro to increase confidence and savings.

Surge Protective Devices
DITEK recently announced its Deflector Series Surge Protective Devices. The Deflector surge pro- tector notifies the user in three ways when it’s time for servicing. Unique rapid-replacement modules make it possible to have the unit up and running again in only a few seconds. The DTK-DF120S1 Deflector Series Surge Protector is a 120-volt dedicated circuit protection device designed to minimize damage from AC supply voltage spikes by isolating incoming surges that originate from lightning strikes and other sources. When the De- flector absorbs a power surge and stops function- ing, the unit sounds a loud audible alarm and an LED flashes, indicating that the module needs to be replaced. Intelligent notification is also available via dry contacts, which can be connected to alarm panels to alert central station monitoring that the module needs replacing.
