Numotion Is All In at the NLC
Mo., employees packaged giveaway bags for an ALS Walk. Orlando, Tampa, and Fort Lauderdale teams stuffed 840 pillows for Give Kids the World, an Orlando resort for families with critically ill children. Ronald McDonald Houses in Las Vegas and Rocky Hill, Conn., received lunch bags decorated with get-well messages from Numotion offices.
Jeff Wheeler and Andria Pritchett presented “Starting the Order Off Right: Conduct Compliant Evals.”
Keynote speaker Gian Paul Gonzalez gave attendees poker chips as part of his “All In” presentation.
In all, more than 1,500 Numotion employees at 100 locations donated their time and talents.
Numotion also raised money for the Numotion Foundation. An evening carnival with midway games and a fiercely contested wheelchair basketball tournament raised more than $7,000 in Dallas, and fundraisers at Numotion offices included cornhole games and silent auctions.
“I Feel It’s a Calling”
Saturday morning’s keynote speaker was Gian Paul Gonzalez, a ninth grade world history teacher from New Jersey who gave up a professional basketball career to have a greater impact on the kids in his community.
Gonzalez is known for a motivational talk with the New York Giants in late 2011, when the team’s record was a lack- luster 7-7. After that — Gonzalez thought at the time that the talk “was a failure” — the Giants won every game for the rest of their season, culminating in a win at the 2012 Super Bowl.
Gonzalez’s message to the Giants and his message for Numotion was the same: All In. “Our words and actions have more impact that we realize,” he told Numotion. “When you chase greatness, as you do, it benefits every- body. Some people aren’t going to get it, are they? Is it really necessary, that degree of commitment?
“I feel it’s a calling. All In is a lifestyle, something we choose. It’s something we renew daily. All In is what you do when victory is uncertain, when the outcome
is unknown. Some people never get it, but you do. We know it’s amazing when we choose to give everything.”
That theme fit well with Numotion’s 2020 message, Barnett said. “This year we asked employees to go All
In to renew everyone’s dedication to our customers.
In addition to presentations by the leadership team, breakout sessions were offered on a variety of topics, but one theme carried throughout — doing things right. Because when we do things right, everybody wins.”
