Custom Platforms from Access4U Inc.
Access4U Inc.

(800) 355-7025
Access4U, and most manufacturers, routinely build standard-sized platforms to meet ADA requirements. However, stan- dardized products can be difficult to apply to everyday situations. Frequently, homes, porches, masonry, pillars, and other objects prevent the installation of these standard-size solutions. In response to customer requirements and market needs, Access4U has developed two solutions.
Extended Modular platforms of any size. The Base unit would be one of the standard sizes but allows customization to larger platforms. Need a 6’x6’, 5’x12’, 6’x10’, or 8’x8’ or other size that does not ship well? Sections are connected under- neath the deck so there is a seamless transition on the walking surface.
Modifications with no lead-time penalty are an Access4U standard. Access4U’s standard sizes are 4’x4’, 5’x5’, 5’x6’, 5’x7’, and 5’x8’. When necessary, Access4U can customize these sizes to specific widths and lengths. Example 5’x47” will fit between two pillars or 5’x6.5’ to allow line-up with a sidewalk and a fence.
Installers opt for these products because it reduces on-site customiza- tion, and they don’t have to get out the carpentry tools and go to the lumber yard.

CHAP DME/HME/DMEPOS Standards
CHAP Inc.

(202) 862-3413
Focused on quality care and positive outcomes for the client, CHAP says its standards are structured to make it
easy for all HME providers, from small providers trying to fill a specific niche to a large organization with a robust product line, to use in their day-to-day activities.
A new format simplifies the process of achieving and maintaining accreditation, and demonstrates a commitment to clear standards and expectations of evidence. This ensures the site visitor and the orga- nization are well aware of the expectation before the survey.
The standards start from quality, patient care — not policies and procedures. Rather than dictate how a provider delivers care, the standards create a framework for providers to build operations that support the care and service they want.

Protekt 1st Defense Dynamic Hybrid Pressure Prevention Mattress System Proactive Medical Products proactivemedical.com

The Protekt 1st Defense Dynamic Hybrid Mattress is the “new alterna- tive” to standard alternating pressure mattresses. Recent studies show the major complaints from patients on an alternating pressure mattress are: The air bladder surface is uncomfortable, they feel unsafe due to the constant movement of the mattress, and they cannot easily position themselves or get out of bed. The 1st Defense reduces these issues, the bed’s maker, Proactive Medical Products, notes.
A foam insert placed inside the pocket under the top cover (patent pending) provides a more comfortable sleeping surface, reduces drastic drops during alternating cycles, and provides a buffer in between bladders allowing the patient to easily reposition or get out of bed. The 1st Defense System is priced as low as $199.95, making it an enticing option for U.S. providers.

Today, 95 percent of home-based patients are craving instant communication
with their providers. Patients also want communication in their preferred chan- nels, which increasingly is text messages. In fact, only 25 percent of emails from businesses to consumers are ever read, while 82 percent of texts are read within five minutes. Brightree Digital Experience (DX) is an innovative digital communica- tions platform that lets providers stream- line and improve the patient experience through automated, orchestrated patient outreach via text message.
Additionally, electronic documentation and signature capabilities, and video chat allow for virtual patient support. This new offering optimizes provider workflows and improves patient satisfaction, elimi- nating the patient having to download a mobile app or register for a patient portal to access the electronic forms, digital signature, and video chat functionalities.
