HARLEQUIN FLOORS
Sprung Floors for Performance Protect Students from Injury

After installing a sprung floor the project is completed with the appropriate performance
facility with performing arts and sports
programs, the chances are you will see dancers using the same floor as athletes. It’s a common assumption that a well-designed sports floor is also suitable for performing arts. The reality is that the requirements of dancers and athletes differ drastically.
Dancers require traction from the floor to prevent slips, whereas too much traction for a basketball player can result in a twisted knee or ankle. Selection of the appropriate sprung floor system is key to preventing injuries.
Harlequin Floors works closely with industry experts to provide sprung floors developed with artistic performance in mind. All stages of product development focus
on protecting dancers from injury, reducing slips and falls, and instilling confidence in performers.
When it comes to sprung floors for schools, Harlequin offers solutions specifical- ly designed for dance and stage. WoodSpring and Activity are permanent options installed by Harlequin’s professional installers.
Liberty LatchLoc is a quick and easy to install portable system. Our newest sprung floor product Flexity Plus is a cost-effective, self-install panel system designed for
faces ideal for everything from tap and ballet
to musical theater.

“We needed the right floors and those floors were Harlequin.”
“When the team at Harlequin Floors reached out to tell me that instead of sprung dance flooring, sports floors were being installed in the new SHSU Gaertner Performing Arts Center dance spaces, I was not happy. Our dancers are athletic artists, but they do not wear cushioned basketball shoes! Most of the time their feet are covered by a thin piece of leather or nothing at all!
I immediately contacted the construction team to tell them it was imperative that they put in proper dance floors. We needed the right floors and those floors were Harlequin. Needless to say, years later our Harlequin Activity® and Harlequin Liberty® sprung dance floors - ing and our department.”
