IoT Smart Sensor
IPVideo Corp. has introduced new features for its HALO IOT Smart Sensor, including spoken keyword alerting, gunshot detection and masked signature identification. Available through HALO’s firmware 2.0 update, the sensor can now detect a spoken keyword (such as “HALO Help”) to send instant alerts to security for help in areas without cameras, including bathrooms, dorm rooms and hospital pa- tient rooms. The sensor also has the ability to de- tect gunshots with advanced audio analytics, which can trigger an emergency response. The company has also advanced HALO’s vape and THC detection capabilities with a new “masking” signature iden- tification. People who are trying to mask vaping activity with aerosols will now be flagged.
Biometric Recognition Tool
iProov has launched its iProov Web solution, which aims to bring genuine presence assurance to web browsers. The company, which is a provider of bio- metric authentication technology, allows users to securely match their laptops, desktop computers, tablets, kiosks and other devices with their faces, ensuring that an unauthorized user does not ac- cess their device. While this technology was avail- able on mobile devices through an app, the iProov Web solution provides wider access and inclusive- ness for people without smartphones or enough storage on their phones. Applications for iProov’s technology can now extend to digital onboarding while setting up a bank account or government ap- plication, multi-factor authentication or account/ password recovery services.
Push Plate Switches
Camden Door Controls made the market intro- duction of the CM-75 Series Column push plate switches with built-in Kinetic no-battery wireless transmitters. Kinetic by Camden offers a power- harvesting wireless system that uses the energy created by the operation of the switch to power the wireless transmitter. This system eliminates battery usage and allows users to avoid the usual maintenance and disposing of hazardous waste in landfills. Installation costs are kept low while the performance of the switches are still rated for one million cycles. An ultra-compact receiver for automatic door operator cabinets comes with the system. The CM-75 series is available in aluminum with a choice of clear, dark bronze or blue finishes.
License Plate Recognition System
Genetec announced the immediate availability of its AutoVu SharpZ3 next-generation mobile license plate recognition system. Designed for parking managers who regularly use mobile ALPR as part of their enforcement practices, the system helps of- ficials track the types of vehicle (cars, vans, trucks, motorcycles, buses) in parking lots or around the area. Over time, the system analyzes the evolution of the mix of vehicle types. In addition, law enforce- ment can use the system to flag vehicle types and colors for cases in which no license plate was iden- tified by a witness. The system aims to improve the accuracy of license plate reads in bad weather, heavy traffic and fast speeds, allowing security staff the ability to track down violators based on vehicle characteristics.
Body Camera/PoC Radio
Hytera recently unveiled its VM780 Body Camera and Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) radio, de- signed for security officers, healthcare staff and transportation employees who need real-time vid- eo evidence capture and dispatching capabilities over wide areas. The product supports HD video, audio calls and instant group and individual calls over nationwide 3G/4G/LTE cellular networks or WiFi networks. Security staff can stream video in real-time back to a dispatch center with high-effi- ciency video compression technology that reduces bandwidth costs. The device will record events for up to 30 seconds before/after an emergency button is pressed. Video can be stored and down- loaded at the end of shifts using charging stations.
Thermal Camera Solutions
FLIR Systems introduced its A400/A700 Thermal Smart Sensor and Thermal Image Streaming fixed camera solutions for monitoring equipment, which is initially prioritized for organizations respond- ing to COVID-19. The configurable smart camera systems provide accurate, non-contact tempera- ture monitoring in different areas, including in manufacturing process control, product develop- ment, emissions monitoring, waste management and more. The solution series offers multi-image streaming, edge computing and WiFi connectiv- ity to help speed up data flow and enable faster decision-making. FLIR is also in beta testing for an automated elevated skin temperature screening software solution that can be integrated with FDA- certified thermal cameras.
