Voice Identification Tech
Amaryllo, a camera startup, announced that its biometric security camera Athena is equipped with the company’s new patent-pending technol- ogy, Voice Print. The technology is a secondary biometric identification tool capable of identifying human voices and differentiating between users. When paired with facial recognition, Voice Print can increase the level of accuracy in human identifica- tion, according to the company. The camera can send a voice alert to the camera owner when a person has been identified. A box appears around the captured face with the identified voice and face labeled. Once the camera recognizes a face, the person will be asked to provide 5 to 6 seconds of speech for Athena to pair with the person’s face. Voice Print is currently only available on Athena.

Fall Detection Devices
Essence Group has developed a multi-sensor fall detector using the Texas Instruments mmWave sensor. The company says that the fall detec- tor’s unique monitoring capability enables elderly people, who are more susceptible to falls as they grow older, to lead more independent lives with- out worrying about not being found after a fall. The device uses radar technology to track the position- ing of seniors and provide immediate detection in case of falls. The product is a battery-operated wireless radar-based devices that can immediately alert healthcare providers if a person falls over. The device, which is in its pre-launch phase, is part of the Essence SmartCare’s Care@Home senior moni- toring platform, which uses an integrated series of devices in homes to monitor activity.

Network Analytics Tool
CUJO AI demonstrated the power of its break- through AI-powered network analytics tool Lens at CES 2020. The CUJO AI tool allows network opera- tors to look at insights data related to operations, product development, business performance and more through an intuitive dashboard. In turn, the tool promotes more awareness of data related to connected devices, applications usage, content ac- cess, security threats and privacy challenges. For the first time, it gives broadband network operators an aggregated, dynamic and near real-time view into the way end users utilize their home and busi- ness networks through a no-cost licensing pro- gram. Security threat detection and monitoring ca- pabilities show the status of antivirus software as well as detects, logs and analyzes security threats.

Smart Sensor System
OVAL Digital opened pre-orders for its 5-in-1 multi-function smart sensor system that includes several security functions. OVAL’s portfolio includes the OVAL Smart Home (two OVAL Sensors and the OVAL Hub) and add-on sensors and hubs that can be ordered through its website and on Amazon. Orders for the OVAL system began shipping in February. The system allows customers to imple- ment real-time monitoring, detection and alerts to changes in motion, light, temperature, humidity and water without the use of cameras or microphones. OVAL says that it has five powerful sensing fea- tures inside each sensor, eliminating the need to purchase different sensors for one security system. In addition, the sensor allows users to alert up to 12 people at once with push notifications.
