Looking Ahead in Dealer Strategies
BIy Ralph C. Jensen
’ve written most of the cover stories for this section over the past few years. Once in a while I take a break, especially when I know you, our reader, will get a quality story from another author. Such is the case today.
I’ve known Ann O’Conner for many years, and this month she has written the cover story about Red Hawk Fire & Security. I think you will enjoy this article because of the focus and future that is their story. Like every security company that is profitable, Red Hawk has had to sharpen its focus on the industry. Security has become their way of life. They also hold the tradi- tion of focusing on the customer, and making sure the community is well served.
In the September issue of Dealer Strategies, I will be writing about a West Coast company, Bastion Security, headquartered in Portland, but with offices in Southern and Northern Califor- nia. This is an interesting company that has patented the use of high standards, or poles, to mount cameras and audio to act as a force multiplier and crime deterrent at any given location.
Not to give too much away, but one interesting concept is that when a criminal has entered a secure premises, audio comes into play where a real life-voice announces they have been seen, and in a rather forceful manner, they are invited to leave the site right at that second.
The November issue will feature a story from an interview with Chad Parris, owner and president of SRMC, a consulting group in the heart of Columbus, Ohio. Parris is a recognized expert in se- curity technologies, and often speaks and participates in regional and international security conference panel discussions about the application of new and emerging technologies.
Joining Parris is Lynda L. Buel, who also is the co-owner and CEO. Buel holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Ohio State University and has more
than 30 years of professional security management expe-
rience. And, it only gets better once you are introduced to the staff and security team that works throughout the country.
Here are three great stories to wrap up 2017. I’m looking forward to bringing you more personal vignettes in 2018, of the people that are making a daily difference in the security industry.
