EDITOR'S NOTE
  AND THE WINNERS ARE...
THANKS FOR PICKING UP THE latest issue of Spaces4Learn- ing! We’ve had a big year, and we’re excited to share what we’ve been working on. Remember that you can keep up with us through a wide variety of channels—our website, newsletter, podcast, webinars, white papers, and more! Visit spaces4learning. com for more details.
The biggest news in this issue is the results of our two annual awards programs, New Product of the Year and the Education Design Showcase. New Product of the Year honors the newest solutions for K–12 and higher education campuses in a wide vari- ety of categories, from flooring to furniture to technology to safety and security. The Education Design Showcase puts the spotlight on architecture and design, highlighting recent achievements in new construction and significant renovation projects. We’d like to thank all of the entrants in this year’s programs, and congratula- tions to our winners!
The issue also touches on some of the hottest topics in educa- tion facilities, such as sustainability and campus infrastructure. There’s also the non-academic parts of the education experience that are just as important to students during their formative years. You’ll learn about designing for SEL (social-emotional learning) and theater & performing arts spaces. As a former high- school theater kid who spent plenty of weeknights at play practice in an empty classroom, it makes me happy to see so many K–12 institutions building up their investments in the fine arts.
If you have any educational facilities news you’d like to see covered—design, construction, product releases, case studies, or anything else—drop us a line! We’re always open to receiving thought-leadership contributed articles and press releases. We’d be happy to feature you on our website, or even in an upcoming issue of Spaces.
Until then, we hope that your school year’s off to a great start, and thanks for reading!
