INV ENTIO NL AND Educa- tion worked with the million erkshire ocal Schools’ new re campus project to create immersive, age-appropriate maker spaces and Innova- tion abs as an integral
part of their larger overall construction project.
This includes reativ-
ity abin locker cubbies
for re and kindergarten students Inventalot astles, with its own slide for rst and second-grade students and hipper’s Treehouse for third- and fourth-graders.
In addition, the team developed iscover irate Ships for h- and sixth- grade maker spaces, Inven- tron obot spaces for sev- enth- and eighth-graders, and high school Innovation abs utiliing a sci-/space fantasy theme, with modern wall art and dry-erase light panels.
ccording to erkshire ocal Schools Superinten- dent ohn Stoddard, The concept behind the maker spaces and Innovation
abs tied in perfectly with our project-based learn- ing approach. e want our learners to understand how the ideas we teach work instead of just memoriing and repeating facts. nd we want to inspire innovation, new thinking, and creativity through a combination of spaces and concepts.
Stoddard and Inven- tionland Education also believe the spaces will help to develop the skills that today’s employers want, such as problem-solving, collaboration, presentation skills, and creative solutions to problems.
