The company’s new 8,892-square-foot Centered on Safety Training Center, located in Carrollton, Ga., on about 3.5 acres of land, is convenient to the Atlanta airport, West Georgia and Bir-
mingham, Ala., according to the company’s news release. The new facility features mul- tiple training rooms, an NCCER testing center, a simulation room, land for crane training, and two warehouses for hands-on training. Previously, the training center was located on the West Georgia Technical Col- lege campus.
As CIS expanded its services, two new staff members joined the team: Fred Rob- inson, business relationship manager, and Shawn Galloway, crane & rigging trainer.
■ Peoples Services, Inc., a company headquartered in Canton, Ohio, that offers a range of specialized material handling and storage services, announced in April it has acquired the assets of Grimes Logistics Services, Inc., based in Jacksonville, Fla. Founded in 1972, Grimes Logistics has five divisions, a growing fleet of trucks, multiple 3PL warehouses in Jacksonville, and more than 100 employees.

■ The American Society of Safety Engineers announced Gary Winn, Ph.D., CHST, is its 2018 William E. Tarrants Outstanding Safety Educator and Tim Page-Bottorff, a safety trainer, mentor, and motivational speaker who is often called a “public utilities safety guru,” is its 2018 Ed- gar Monsanto Queeny Safety Professional of the Year. Both are to be honored during the Safety 2018 Professional Development Conference & Exposition.
Winn is a professor of safety manage- ment in the Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering at West Virginia University. Page-Bottorff, CSP, CET, is a senior consultant at SafeStart who serves as ASSE Region 2 vice president and is deputy vice president for the ASSE Coun- cilonRegionAffairs.
