Q’STRAINT Debuts Next Generation of QUANTUM Securement
Q’STRAINT has launched the next generation of its QUANTUM wheel- chair securement system, designed to provide even greater indepen- dence for wheelchair users.
QUANTUM is known for its ability to be used virtually autonomously by wheelchair users. Now the QUANTUM GEN II builds on that original success via a number of new features.
In a news announcement, Q’STRAINT noted the QUANTUM GEN II “offers faster installation, modular serviceability, operator feedback and is now nearly 10 percent lighter.”
The GEN II’s ITS Technology can be integrated with the proprietary
operating systems of most transit agencies. “This advanced function- ality provides transit planners and mobility passengers with real-time data like ridership patterns, dwell times, and mobility seating avail- ability. These ITS capabilities can translate into the development of mobility passenger apps, set up noti- fications for service, and the ability to plan the most efficient routes.”
Power wheelchair users drive into the QUANTUM system and secure themselves, typically in less than 25 seconds and without needing the bus driver to help with tie-downs, searching for securement points
on the wheelchair, etc. To watch a video of the QUANTUM in action, visit www.qstraint.com/quantum/.
