With two complex rehab technology (CRT) bills on wheelchair accessories funding plus a sepa-
rate Medicare benefit category bill introduced to Congress in the first quarter, 2017 is shaping up to be a crucial year for the rehab industry and the consumers it serves.
At March’s International Seating Symposium in Nashville, Tenn., Quantum
in a news announcement of the event, “2017 is poised as a pivotal year for our complex rehab legislative and regulatory priorities. NCART’s unyielding mission toward protecting access to vital complex rehab technologies for beneficiaries serves as a resounding voice toward accomplishing the goals at hand. We are pleased
to continue our joint work with NCART in protecting access to CRT.”
Johnson and Jay Brislin, Quantum Rehab’s VP, got together to present a $5,000 check to Don Clayback, executive director of NCART, in the Quantum Rehab booth.
Among NCART's upcoming activities is its annual lead- ership and advocacy conference, co-hosted by NRRTS and scheduled for late April in Arlington, Va. That event includes the opportunity for attendees to meet person- ally with legislators and staffers on Capitol Hill to discuss critical CRT issues and to educate policy makers on the importance of preserving access to CRT for consumers with mobility-related disabilities. l
Rehab acknowledged that and made a monetary dona- tion to NCART in support of the organization’s various advocacy activities.
