TwelveStone Health Partners, VirtueRN Partner to Develop Post-Acute System
Solution would aim to increase communication and cohesion for referrals, providers and patients in HME, infusion and medication services.
TwelveStone Health Partners, a provider of post-acute, chronic care medication services, and VirtueRN, a post-acute healthcare technology company, will jointly develop a software platform aiming to streamline work ows for partners in post-acute care.
The effort aims to address the fragmented market for HME, infusion and medication services that is impacting referrals, partners and patients. Objectives for the project include streamlining work ow processes and increasing communication across the post-acute care continuum.
“Technology offers the opportunity to ensure that patients get what they need faster and more ef ciently,” said Shane Reeves, chief executive of cer of TwelveStone Health Partners. “Our under- standing of the players and shortcomings regarding post-acute medication service delivery, combined with VirtueRN’s technology prowess and knowl- edge of the post-acute care market, makes the combination a natural partnership opportunity.”
A statement from TwelveStone Health Partners said the company believe VirtueRN has a “head start” having creatied its own platform, and that
will facilitate getting to market more rapidly and reduce overall project investment.
“We applaud TwelveStone for their interest in nding ways to leverage technology to address short-comings in the post-acute market,” ssaidays Gibran Ameer, chief executive of cer of VirtueRN. n

 H.R. 3730 Steadily Gains Backers
Legislation to protect manual CRT wheelchair accessories gains momentum throughout holidays and into the New Year.
H.R. 3730, legislation that would stop CMS from using competitive bidding-derived reimbursement for accessories used with manual CRT wheelchairs, is picking up momentum in the House of Representatives and industry advocates
were working to capitalize on that momentum. At press time, the bill, introduced into the
House in September by Reps. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.) and John Larson (D-Conn.), had picked up 27 cosponsors during the holidays, bringing the total to 81 members of Congress supporting the nascent legislation.
Moreover, the support has been bi-partisan with 39 Republicans and 42 Democrats backing the bill. Don Clayback, executive director of the National Coalition for Assistive and Rehab Technology (NCART) called on CRT stakeholders to capitalize on that fact and push for additional support.
“Our message is simple: H.R. 3730 has broad bipartisan support and its passage will protect access for all people who use CRT wheelchairs, not just those who use CRT power wheelchairs,” he said. “Ask your Representative to tell their leader- ship that this is ‘must pass’ legislation, and to take action this month.
“... H.R. 3730 could be included in some larger bills coming up for vote,” he added. “If we want to be included, Congress needs to hear from us now.”
Providers can help support the bill by going to the H.R. 3730 section at www.protectmymobility.org to obtain prepared emails and talking points that should help them quickly reach out to their Representatives, and urge them to sign onto the bill. n
