HME Community:
It is clear change is needed now! Home medical equipment providers across the nation have been driving home the message that our industry remains commit- ted to furnishing essential and literally life-saving products and services to our patients. But HME advocates are also making it clear to Congress and CMS that unsustainable reimbursement rates and other policy changes are threatening providers and patients alike.
AAHomecare is leading the charge on policy and advocacy initiatives, continuing to press the case for longer-term relief for rural and non-bid area providers as well as for significant structural improvements to the competitive bidding pro- gram with Federal regulators. And we are also working to reduce audit burdens, increasing our engagement with private payers and government health contrac- tors, researching the effects of policy changes the industry has already suffered through, and giving a voice to providers and patients.
We’ve made strong progress, and we’re well-positioned for more public policy gains this year – but we can’t make it happen without you. Join the national asso- ciation working to make sure every segment of our industry gets fair and sensible regulation, as well as sustainable reimbursement rates – and a chance to survive and thrive – in the coming years. I invite you to do something for your business and your industry, become a member of the American Association for Homecare.
