In 2020, her hands-on engagement led to a 45% year-over-year increase in businesses joining the AWS program and raised the number of FedRAMP-authorized solutions to 129. She helped public- sector partners build their AWS prac- tice from the ground up by launching the AWS Partner Transformation Pro- gram. She also led critical inclusion, diversity and equity initiatives, includ- ing the first AWS Build(Her) event
for women technology entrepreneurs interested in doing business with the public sector.

Driving for responsible AI. As a commissioner on the National Secu- rity Commission on Artificial Intel- ligence, Clyburn is leading initiatives focused on training and recruiting
the next generation of AI talent and ensuring that AI is used responsibly. She has directly contributed to recom- mendations that have shaped legisla- tion and policy in a number of areas, including self-directed training in advanced technologies at the Defense Department, enhancement of public/ private talent exchange programs at DOD and the acquisition of ethically and responsibly developed AI technol- ogy. Clyburn is also a strong advocate for ensuring that people with dis- abilities and those from rural, Native American and low-wealth communi- ties have access to communications technology.

SEWP’s secret weapon. NASA’s Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Pro- curement program has a reputation for excellence among government- wide acquisition contracts, and Coen’s leadership maintains and advances that high standard. During the pan- demic, SEWP officials were forced to quickly transition to unfamiliar vir- tual operations while supporting the
increase in demand for information and communications technology and audiovisual tools as agencies adapted to the same virtual conditions. Thanks to Coen’s management and stead-
fast approach to decreasing friction in buying those essential solutions, SEWP adoption rose by 40% as fed- eral agencies spent over $9.2 billion through the vehicle.

Milspec data management. Cole- man led implementation of the Army Vantage data management platform, which provides a common, integrated platform for real-time, data-driven decision-making. She helped manage the smooth rollout of the produc-
tion contract, identified a number of opportunities for user applications, conducted high-level meetings and demonstrations with senior military officials, and oversaw her team’s rapid development and fielding of custom- ized data tools for stakeholders. Under Coleman’s leadership, Army Vantage recorded 18,000-plus active user accounts, 40,000 unique data- sets and more than 8,700 analytical products for broad Army consump- tion in 2020. Colleagues credited her competitive drive and caring nature for fueling the program’s success.

Coding for the future. One of Chail- lan’s key missions when he became the Air Force’s first chief software officer was to bring rapid, secure, iterative software solutions to the service. He has succeeded by helping the Air Force onboard developers and spearheading Platform One, which brings together the talents of the service’s software factories and helps deploy accredited code to warfight- ers. His vision and persistence fueled Platform One’s implementation of DevSecOps at sonic speed for the
