Even before the COVID-19 pandemic,

use their existing Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 credentials to digitally sign such transactions via a mobile device. In addition, applicants can track the status of their applications and automatically be notified of an agency’s decision so they can receive their benefits sooner.
Digital transactions are more efficient
and cost-effective for customers and agencies than paper-based processes. And they make it easier for government to seamlessly continue functioning during a crisis and under normal conditions. Now that’s a win-win for government and the citizens they serve.
