U.S. students who enroll in the medical school’s January 2019 class to claim a re- fund of their tuition if they subsequently matriculate at an allopathic medical school in the U.S. in fall 2019.
The program initially launched last year for Canadian applicants. Students who enrolled in the January 2018 term could claim a tuition refund if they later matriculated to a Canadian or U.S. al- lopathic medical school in fall 2018.
Three-quarters of current St. George’s students are U.S. citizens. The university is the number-one provider of U.S. doctors into first-year residencies and the number- four provider of doctors to the U.S. overall. More than 900 St. George’s graduates secured residencies in the U.S. in 2018.
Boston University
Announces Wind
Power Purchase
Boston University (BU) will buy nonpolluting wind power for 15 years beginning in 2020, a major step in the
university’s Climate Action Plan (CAP) to curb greenhouse gas emissions. The uni- versity will buy 205,000 megawatt hours of electricity annually during the contract. This amount is equivalent to displacing greenhouse gas emissions from 33,000 motor vehicles over the course of a year.
BU will buy the power from a South Dakota wind farm that will begin con- struction in the spring. It will then resell that power for use in the midwestern U.S. By purchasing power outside New Eng- land, the BU will earn legal credits (called renewable energy certificates) against its own carbon emissions in Boston.
Renewable energy certificates are documents under U.S. law certifying that energy buyers have purchased clean power. Such credits, along with increas- ing energy efficiency, renewable sources, and the ongoing greening of the New England power grid, are key strategies in the CAP, which aims to reduce carbon emissions to zero on BU’s campuses and global operations by 2040.

Wall Protection
Things to Know About Wall Protection
WALL PROTECTION IS A NECESSITY in busy environments to preserve the look of a build- ing and reduce continuous maintenance and repair costs. Here are three things to keep in mind when choosing wall protection.
1. Location. Deciding on the placement of wall protection can be a challenge. Common areas, like gymnasiums and cafeterias, are prone to wall damage from moving furniture and equipment and may be good starting points. Knowing where damaging objects may regularly hit a wall can help determine where the protection should be placed.
2. Levels of impact. Wall protection prod- ucts should be chosen based on the amount of impact the wall may encounter. These products include feature rails, crash rails, rigid sheet, and more. Feature rails can withstand lighter impact from objects such as chairs. Crash rails and corner guards are thicker and designed to keep items further from the wall while withstanding more frequent, intense impacts. Rigid sheet wall protection provides significantly more protection from damage than Type II commercial wall covering. Wall panels are an even more durable option for protection from heavier impacts,
as they are considerably thicker. Utilizing wall protection will reduce maintenance and labor costs like drywall repairs and repainting.
3. Special conditions and applications.
Curves and radiuses play a large role in architec- ture. Graphic wall protection can be used around a column to create unique design elements, such as the imitation of a marble column in a high- end space. Certain handrails can be specified for wide or tight wall radiuses. They can even be formed at custom angles on a horizontal plane for ramps and transitions, ensuring mobility and stability for those who rely on both.
