will see dancers using the same floor as athletes. It’s a common assumption that a well-designed sports floor is also suitable for performing arts. The reality is that the requirements of dancers and athletes differ drastically.
Dancers require traction from the floor to prevent slips, whereas too much traction for a basketball player can result in a twisted knee or ankle. Selection of the appropriate sprung floor system is key to preventing injuries to students.
