The conceptual boundaries of making things in the classroom are expanding. However, teachers struggle with tying new, cool activities back to Common Core standards and other fundamental lessons.

MODERN MAKER SPACES are expanding their boundaries, with more educators warming up to the idea
of decentralizing spaces, or at least enhancing portability. Pam Moran, superintendent of Albemarle County Public Schools, Albemarle, VA, has seen maker spaces expand
to classrooms, where the mindset of the space becomes a “pathway to learning that can ultimately happen anywhere.”
