AI is Here to Stay
  Ihave been on the staff of Security Today in various capacities since 2006. And it has been fascinating to see how the security industry con- tinue to advance and improve with a wealth of technology innovations.
During that time, a number of trends have come and gone. Some of those have become entrenched in the security industry while other have faded away into obscurity.
As you probably know, artificial intelligence, or AI, has taken a number of industries—including security—by storm. OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which launched in late 2022, has opened the flood gates for AI technology for consumers and businesses.
Security has definitely benefited. For example, AI can help accomplish tasks like watching a video stream 24/7 and informing an operator of any out-of-the- ordinary situations. That can save any business time and money.
After the fact, with recorded video, AI can help find something as specific as a person wearing a blue shirt or even locating a red car. Being able to find that video quickly, and easily, can make investigations move even faster. AI is

It is here to stay, and I am excited to see what else AI can do for security in the future.
