IP Devices over a Single Pair
Altronix’s Pace1KRT long-range Ethernet adapter kit transmits data and power (30W) via a single pair (shielded or unshielded) up to 1000m for the latest IP devices. These units provide seamless network transmission for citywide surveillances, elevator communications, HVAC applications and much more. Pace1KRT is powered via PoE/ PoE+, includes a receiver and transceiver, and is backed by a lifetime warranty. Altronix products are NDAA and TAA compliant.
Mobile App Enhancements
3xLOGIC Inc. has added Smart Search capability and a Network Video Recorder plugin to its VIGIL CLOUD mobile app. Through its intuitive interface, the mobile app makes tasks like viewing video, case management and viewing and reacting to notifications available using common gestures and movements common within many other mobile applications. With the app, users can eas- ily access VIGIL CLOUD from anywhere, at any time, on their smartphone to quickly navigate through the solution’s most important features. With Smart Search capability, users can quickly and easily identify and review events of interest, resulting in more accurate and efficient investi- gations.
Software Now Available
Johnson Controls is introducing its IQ panel 4.1 software. Updates include an increase in IQ hard- wire PowerG hardware to wireless zone count from 16 to 80 for larger commercial installations. The system will upload photo frame images wire- less from a mobile device or computer. There is QR code scanning for IQ Wi-Fi, and well as night light settings, and live answer volume control. Sensors can now be individually bypassed from the Alarm.com app at the time of arming, and has the ability to use scenes for gate control and au- dio control on the panel.
Cloud VMS with Video Analytics
Dragonfruit has announced Frontier, a new Cloud VMS with AI Analytics included. Frontier deliv- ers a fully integrated experience, combining consumer-grade usability with enterprise-grade capability. Frontier is designed for multi-location enterprises that are not able to deploy expensive GPU hardware across all their sites (for On-prem AI), and don’t have enough upload bandwidth for Cloud-based AI. Dragonfruit’s patented Split AI (US 11265591) helps scale even advanced AI, like Liq- uid Spill Detection, to hundreds of such locations while keeping bandwidth requirements low – even at 4G speeds.
Keyless Padlock, Removable Shackle
Abloy Oy has unveiled a digital, keyless padlock with a removable shackle. The new lock is the lat- est addition to the ABLOY BEAT product family and to ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions’ digital portfolio for critical infrastructure. All products in the BEAT range are designed especially for professional physical protection of critical infrastructure, busi- nesses and industry sites. While securing property, they also offer customers improved operational efficiency, reducing both logistics and costs. The solution is intended to be used in sectors like tele- com, transportation, water and energy. Padlocks with a removable shackle are typically needed in gate frames and hasps in critical infrastructure environments.
Proactive Power Management
LifeSafety Power is announcing BiTSTREAM, which allows an installer to power an access control system exclusively through PoE power, eliminating the need for field wiring and AC drops. BiTSTREAM’s unique Fire over Ethernet (FoE) fea- ture allows egress on fire alarms through a single centralized fire alarm connection. BiTSTREAM is a family of IEEE 802.3bt-compliant PoE midspan injectors and PoE powered DC power supply/ chargers specifically designed for the access control and security industries. With BiTSTREAM, installers can eliminate the need for a high volt- age electrician while simplifying access control installations with features such as integrated fire alarm disconnect, battery charging and remote monitoring and control.
