Safeguarding People, Places
Converus introduces EyeDetect+. Customers and the public trust security firms to safeguard people, places and information. This trust is quickly de- stroyed if security personnel commit a crime. One of the best ways for a security firm to preserve its reputation is to implement an efficient prescreen- ing process for job candidates, as well as accurate testing of current personnel in the event of an eco- nomic loss. EyeDetect+ is an advanced lie detec- tion solution that measures involuntary eye behav- ior to quickly detect deception and gathers similar physiological data as a standard polygraph instru- ment, making it compliant with the Employee Poly- graph Protection Act (EPPA). This minimal-contact, computer-based test is automated and unbiased.
Biometric Access Control Solution
Hytera announces the launch of Hytera Smart- Guard, a new biometrics access control solution. It provides safe, non-contact body temperature screening to reduce the risk of virus transmission and facial recognition to validate employee identity for building access. SmartGuard is an automated access control device with management software and is targeted to small to medium-sized busi- nesses, medical facilities, schools and events. The infrared temperature screening reads the tempera- ture of employees and visitors standing between 12 and 20 inches from the device with an accuracy of 0.54 degrees Fahrenheit. The facial recognition algorithm provides detection within 200ms and is accurate to 99.8% against non-living attempts.
