Door and Gate Controller
ProdataKey has introduced its “pedestal io” door and gate controller, which is designed for use in all-weather outdoor applications. The controller is ideal for securing parking lots, gated communi- ties, storage facilities and other exposed outdoor locations. Compatible with any ProdataKey cloud- based, network or wireless access control system, the unit can be mounted quickly to goosenecks or walls and comes ready for plug-and-play installa- tion. The product can come with an optional rug- gedized touchpad reader to work with proximity cards or fobs. Two reader inputs support applica- tions that require credential presentation, and the second reader input can also be assigned to trig- ger automated events. Instant alerts can be sent to managers either on their screens or via text or email if any issues arise.

H5SL Camera Line
Avigilon launched its latest line of cameras with the introduction of the H5SL camera, which has a modular design that easily snaps into a variety of base options. End-users can have the camera up and running in minutes. In addition, customers have flexibility to choose from various lens types depending on their security needs, including a new long-range lens that allows them to see with more clarity at farther distances. Audio and input con- nections also help operators configure actions and alarms for efficient event response. The camera aims to save storage and network bandwidth and therefore keeping internet connectivity costs down. The H5SL camera line incorporates Avigilon’s mo- tion detection software that can notify operators of unusual events they might otherwise have missed.

Power Harvesting Wireless System
Camden has launched its newest offering in the wireless market with the Kinetic by Camden “pow- er harvesting” wireless system. The product uses the energy created by the operation of the switch to power the wireless transmitter. No batteries are required to maintain or replace the system. Kinetic also does not generate hazardous waste, which makes the product greener and less harmful to the environment. The company says Kinetic is the only “power harvesting” wireless system to feature an ultra-compact receiver with field selectable mo- mentary, delayed or latching relay operation. Ki- netic is also designed to be installed in automatic door operator cabinets. Designed for both indoor and outdoor applications, the product could be de- ployed for reliable door activation in any commer- cial, industrial or institutional application.

Access Control Platform
SALTO Systems showcased its latest releases at GSX 2019 in Chicago, with a particular focus on its SALTO KS Keys as a Service platform. The platform provides a flexible, cloud-based access control management system to customers without any re- quired software installation or the added costs of a fully-wired electronic product. All end-users need is an online device with an Internet connection. The dashboard provides a simple tool that gets all doors online and allows administrators to define who can enter which doors during which time periods. Oper- ators can also receive notifications regarding door and user activity using a message center. Settings can be adjusted to determine who receives which alerts and on what platforms they are sent on: email, SMS and push notifications through an app.

4K Dome Camera
Vicon has introduced its new SN688D-WIR PTZ dome camera, offering 4K resolution and highly- detailed image quality to large area surveillance op- erations. In addition, the camera offers high-speed pan/tilt and zoom functions alongside 360-degree rotation that allow the camera to quickly move and focus on different objects in a scene. The product also features an autoiris lens that maintains proper light levels to provide high video quality under di- verse and changing outdoor lighting conditions. De- signed for both day and night conditions, the cam- era has a removable IR cut filter for superior image quality that can be adjusted depending on time of day. Synchronized IR LEDs automatically adjust in- tensity with the optical zoom of the lens, making the camera more versatile in case operators decide to change its permanent location.

School Intelligence Monitoring
Rekor Systems announced its first implementa- tion of its OnGuard School Safety intelligence moni- toring solution in Fallsburg, New York. The school district there will take advantage of OnGuard’s so- cial media monitoring solution, FIRSTSight, which identifies potential threats within publicly posted content and provides recommendations for action. In addition, OnGuard will provide the district with automatic license plate reader cameras that allow schools to monitor vehicles entering and exiting lots. The district can upload approved or black- listed vehicles, flagging when suspended students, known criminals or other banned individuals drive on or near campus. Lastly, OnGuard aims to en- force school bus passing violations with cameras bus stop-arm cameras to capture video of violators.
