Breach Goes the Data
No matter what year it is, data security will always be on our minds. As we peruse online shopping sites, make
a few purchases, sign up for a new email or social media account, and visit a few of our favorite news sources, our private informa- tion, unfortunately, is ripe for the hacking. But, there is hope. Encryption capabilities are
out there, and they are available for anyone, not just corpora- tions. In one of our most recent Online Exclusives, Mike Mc- Camon explores encryption and provides insight for how we can protect our data every time we log on.
Our REACTION blog addresses current events and receives great feedback from our active online community. We’d like to invite you to check out our recent posts and share your thoughts. 6 Questions to Ask Before Hiring a Security Guard
By Ahmad Hamidi
Hiring a private security company for your business or property is one of the most crucial decisions you have to make. After
all, you need a reliable security partner to protect your valu- able assets and people from theft, vandalism and other crimes. However, there are number of factors to consider before you hire a security guard company. A right security team will moni- tor; deter crime and protect your place, thereby creating a safe environment around you.
Review your security needs to find out what kind of secu- rity you need. Is it armed or unarmed? If you are hiring armed guards, make sure they are well trained in operating firearms and carry a license to avoid liability issues. Remember, armed security guards are expensive as the company has to provide increased liability insurance, and not to mention the expenditure coming on the weapon training.
2017: The Year Encryption Goes Wild
By Mike McCamon
Wow, another year goes by with even more monumental data breaches. Believe what you want about the election, the DNC hacks, the latest Yahoo breach revelation and the numerous other data thefts put even more business decision-makers in fear for their own company’s technology security. Leadership’s historical response to breaches has continued to be higher walls and wider moats. Maybe it’s time for a different (and maybe more affordably efficient) approach.
