is a space of theatricality that seeks to mediate the enthusiasm of incoming students with the vener- ability of a flagship research university. 􏰂harged with athletic program symbols, colors, and stories, the facil- ity builds from the center outward to create layers of space and material, reveal- ing the breadth and depth of opportunity offered by the institution.
􏰀t the core is an immer- sive introductory experience afforded by an auditorium with orange-lightwashed walls 􏰃ltered by bron􏰄e metal fabric. 􏰅inwheeling off the core are gallery, 􏰆ueue- ing, counseling, and support 􏰄ones, which incorporate representations of the university’s colleges and his- tory. 􏰇n the exterior, a new entrance pla􏰄a navigates the elevation change from the primary campus pedestrian thoroughfare down to this space carved from the base- ment of the massive main campus library.
The facility provides a persuasive experience for potential students consider- ing the university.
