Regardless of which space occupational safety and health professionals occupy, one thing that is universal when it comes to the past, present and future of OSH is the necessity for vigilance. Resting on one’s laurels can quite
literally mean the difference between life and death for workers. Part of the job is inherently advocating for new and better ways of ensuring employees are safe while on the job. Even in seemingly safe spaces, there always lies room for continual improvement.
Of course, how this is addressed will vary greatly, depending on one’s industry and various other elements. But even if the framework for an optimum OSH environment is in place, its full potential cannot be truly reached without the compelling tools capable of making such progress possible and sustainable. That’s why the semiannual Product Launch sections—like the one on the following pages—are so pivotal to our mission here at OH&S. Consider it a glimpse into the future of workplace safety.
Just as we work to keep readers updated on the latest OSH

developments, many companies out there diligently stay on top of the latest research and technology to equip employers and workers with the best products on the market. Though the landscape of workplace safety is ever-changing, the duty to introduce fresh ideas on how to address pervasive issues rages on. And often, it is the implementation of the right OSH product that makes all the difference, often serving as the missing ingredient that unlocks a new level of protection.
Only time will tell how this latest crop of products will compel workplace health and safety professionals to make positive changes. However, it is, as ever, our duty to showcase some of the current products likely to make an impact on how companies conduct business and how they protect their workers from potential health and safety hazards. Hopefully, these products can propel us toward a brighter, safer tomorrow.
