as a MEMS 9-Axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) motion sensor. ThThe IMU will contain three sensing components—a gyroscope, an accelerometer and a magnetometer. ThThis sensor will be capable of measuring accelerations, angular rotations and gravitational fifields that are consistent with human motion and the environment.
This information could be used by safety managers to create safer work environments for their employees. For example, if an employee was injured in an accident, the IMU could be used to determine what physical movements led up to the accident. By understanding how accidents happen, safety managers can take steps to prevent them from happening in the future.
