One of my favorite parts of covering the safety and health industry is going to conferences that are uniquely designed to bring occupational safety and health professionals together in an effort to educate
and connect. This month, the OH&S team, alongside thousands of OSH professionals, will be descending upon San Diego, Calif. for the National Safety Council’s Safety 2022 Congress & Expo.
On September 16 – 22, 2022, safety professionals from all over the country will come together to share experiences and make connections with others in the same field as them. This opportunity is unlike any other when it comes to expanding your career and finding solutions that work best for your company or organization.
NSC Safety 2022 gives attendees the ability to sit in on
educational courses, connect with like-minded professionals and explore the latest offerings from the industry leaving everyone with ideas and tactics for safety to try once they return to their home offices. According to NSC, it’s no surprise that 90 percent of attendees state that the information they learn at the Congress & Expo helped them perform their job more effectively.
This year, the Congress & Expo will feature over 100 technical sessions for attendees, including sessions on topics like marijuana in the workplace, AI for forklift safety, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and several sessions on innovative safety and health technology solutions.
In addition to the technical sessions, the Congress will host several inspirational keynote speakers, including former NASA Astronaut and New York Times Bestselling Author Mike Massimo and Founder and CEO of Not Impossible Labs Mick Ebeling. Attendees will also get the chance to hear from Doug Parker, Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety & Health, in a session set to update safety and health professionals on what is in store for OSHA.
While the educational technical sessions are a great reason for attending the show in San Diego this year, attendees will also have the ability to stroll the aisles of the show’s exposition which will feature booths from hundreds of manufacturers and solutions providers in the safety and health industry, giving attendees a unique opportunity to touch and feel safety products and have in-depth conversations with providers on the floor.
No matter your reasoning for taking the trip to San Diego, remember that education and connection are key the key to success in the safety and health industry. When OSH professionals work together to teach and learn from each other, the industry is working at its peak.
