Requirements of 2019 Edition of NFPA 652 Standard on Combustible Dust - On Your Way Towards Compliance? March 21, 2019
2 p.m. Eastern • 1 p.m. Central • 11 a.m. Pacific
This webinar will present a systematic and practical approach for controlling dust explosion hazards based on the requirements of NFPA 652 Standard on Combustible Dust and the recent changes to NFPA 652 as reflected in the 2019 edition. National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) 652 ad- dresses the general requirements for the management of combustible dust fire and explosion hazards and directs the user to the appropriate/applicable NFPA industry or commodity-specific standard/s. NFPA 652 is the governing standard for industrial facilities that manufacture, process, blend, convey, generate, and/or handle combustible dusts or combustible particulate solids. A key requirement of the new standard is that covered sites complete a “Dust Hazard Assessment (DHA)” specifically targeting explosible dust issues. NFPA 652 also requires that the DHA be reviewed and updated every five years. Other key changes in the standard will also be overviewed.
