PARTICIPATE
Any entity or individual can participate in standards development activities. Groups participating in standards development gain a tangible competitive advantage over their competitors. For example, they:
• Gain insider knowledge and early access to information
• Exert influence on technical content
• Develop new markets for products, services, and technologies, and keep market
access doors open
Comprised of Government agencies, Organizations, Companies, Academic and Interna- tional bodies, and individuals, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) repre- sents the interests of more than 125,000 companies and 3.5 million professionals.
ANSI is the official U.S. representative to the International Organization for Standardiza- tion (ISO) and, via the U.S. National Committee, the International Electrotechnical Com- mission (IEC). ANSI is also a member of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF).
On almost any given day, a standards group or technical committee is meeting and making decisions that could affect your bottom line. Shouldn’t you be involved?
