Travis Medical Combines Operations with American Seating & Mobility
Travis Medical and American Seating & Mobility (ASM) are “combining operations” according to an April 1 news announcement.
Travis Medical now has 24 locations, with offices in Florida, Idaho, Montana, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas and Washington state. The company, headquartered in Austin, Texas, was founded in 1989 by the Yule family.
“Our number-one priority is providing the highest level of expertise and exceptional customer experience to individuals with complex rehabilitation needs,” said Travis Medical CEO Chris Yule in the news announcement. “We strive to positively affect the lives of the community we serve every day. We welcome the entire ASM team and will continue our commitment of treating our employees
as part of the family across the organization.”
Andrew Jeske, owner of ASM, has become a Senior VP
at Travis Medical and will continue to lead operations in the Pacific Northwest, according to the announcement.
“I am very excited to combine the business we have built with that of Travis Medical,” Jeske said. “I look forward to growing the business as we seek additional acquisition oppor- tunities not only in the Pacific Northwest, but across the country.”
ASM had six branch offices in Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington state. Those offices will continue to operate using the ASM name.
Travis Medical also hosts a popular series of educa- tional events for CRT industry professionals via its Travis Cares division. m
Going Green: Amylior Announces Tree-Planting Partnership
You probably know Amylior for its Amysystems power wheelchairs or its Amyseat power positioning options. Maybe you even know about CG Air, Amylior’s new air-cell seat cushion line.
Now, Amylior has announced another goal: To care for the planet via a brand-new conservation partnership.
At March’s International Seating Symposium (ISS) in Pittsburgh, Amylior officially launched its tree-planting project in partner- ship with the Give Back to Nature organization.
For every power wheelchair it sells, Amylior will join with Give Back to Nature to sponsor the planting of one tree. Every time an Amysystems power chair owner registers with Amylior,
the manufacturer will sponsor the planting of 10 more trees.
Give Back to Nature works with Eden Reforestation Projects, a
non-profit organization that plants trees in countries such as Ethiopia, Haiti, Indonesia and Tibet. Give
Back to Nature supports the reintro- duction of native tree species that have been lost or have been sharply reduced due to deforestation.
In addition to strengthening forest systems to support and preserve wildlife habitats, and control flooding and erosion, the project employs local villagers to plant the trees. In that way, the project also fights local poverty, which is often a side effect of farmlands no longer capable of growing crops.
The tree-planting partnership is just one way that Amylior is celebrating the great outdoors. In addition to showing off its outdoor-themed graphics options for its Alltrack power chairs, Amylior also used
ISS to introduce Ben Leclair, its new ambassador, to the industry. Leclair,

a professional wakeboarder who sustained a high-level spinal cord injury in 2016, is a new Amysystems power chair user. m
