NSM Expands in Texas & Northern California
A new acquisition in Fort Worth has expanded National Seating & Mobility’s (NSM) complex rehab coverage in the Lone Star State.
In a Jan. 21 news announcement, NSM said it had acquired First Care Medical Equipment, based in Fort Worth, Texas.
Bill Mixon, NSM’s CEO, said in the announcement, “First Care Medical Equipment LLP has been a leader in Texas for home accessibility products and services for many years. We look forward to expanding our reach in Texas with this respected team.”
First Care Medical Equipment was founded in 1998 by Robby Halcomb, a complex rehab technology industry veteran. NSM said Halcomb, ATP Ray Deshazer, and the CRT team from First Care Medical will be transitioning over to NSM.
They’ll work out of the NSM office at 5470 E Loop 820 South.
NSM now has 10 offices in Texas in the cities of Abilene, Austin, Beaumont, Dallas, Houston, McAllen, Midland, San Antonio, Waco, and now, Fort Worth.
California Presence Also Grows
In early March, NSM announced it had purchased Western Rehab Solutions in Martinez, Calif. Western Rehab has been serving clients in the Bay Area and surrounding counties for more than 30 years.
Company owners Al and Meg McNiece are transi- tioning to NSM as part of the acquisition and will serve in leadership positions at the Martinez office. Additionally, Western Rehab’s Buffy Rau, ATP, and the company’s complex rehab technology team are also joining NSM.
The addition of Western Rehab means that NSM now has 16 locations in California, including offices in Fairfield, Hayward, San Jose and Santa Rosa in the northern part of the state.
Mixon said of this latest addition, “NSM is proud to add new branches across the country through acquisition partnerships with companies that share our values. We are excited to expand our Northern California footprint with this new branch and look forward to partnering with this experienced and well-respected team to bring innovative mobility and accessibility solutions to Bay Area clients.” m
