XLR 14 Power Wheelchair
Edge 3 with SRS
Technology
Quantum Rehab’s new Edge 3
power wheelchair builds on the manufacturer’s Edge 2, but adds
Smooth Ride Suspension (SRS) technology as well as standard
fender lights, standard USB
device charger and standard drive-wheel accents that correspond with new shroud color choices.
The SRS advancements are in response to consumers wanting a softer ride, which can facilitate the use of specialty driving controls and also reduce incidents of spasticity.
The Edge 3’s options include iLevel power adjustable seating, and the ability to drive up to 4.5 mph with the seat elevated — helpful, for instance, when crossing busy streets. Quantum says other features, including the USB port and fender lights, are responses to consumer, provider and clinician input.

Grooved Mushroom Joystick Handle
Traditional joysticks aren’t the best answer for every power wheel- chair user. The team at Bodypoint therefore brought together some of the most popular features of their previous controls and designed the Grooved
Mushroom
Joystick Handle.
The textured,
rounded top fills
the user’s hand
and is comfortable
and secure to use
for wheelchair
drivers grabbing the joystick from above. Top and side grooves provide superior grip and control to users with limited hand function or dexterity. Users who grasp the joystick from the side can tuck their fingers below the knob for a more comfortable and secure grip. Got a user who drives primarily using the palmar hand position or fingertips? This control can be easily cut down to a more convenient size (as pictured). The flexible shaft dampens vibration during driving and reduces the risk of damage to electronic controls. The handle is made of springy, tough polyurethane that is easy to grip and easy to clean (by hand or in the dishwasher).

This new single-power-option power chair gets its name from large 14" drive wheels as well as extra-long range battery options. The mid-wheel- drive power base includes four independently suspended front and
rear casters to provide the stability that comes from having six points of
contact with the ground.
The XLR 14 offers 50° of tilt, a
manual semi-recline back, a 300-lb. weight capacity, and seat-to-floor heights of 18-21". It’s coded K0835/ K0836 and is designed to meet the clinical and mobility requirements of clients who need to spend longer amounts of time in a power chair — which is when extended battery life is critical.
At the same time, the XLR 14 offers consumer-friendly features often seen in consumer power chairs, such as a small footprint for
enhanced maneuverability, and power base shrouds (red, blue, pewter, black) that can be swapped out according to each user’s personal style.

Forward Cushion
With mild to moderate skin protection and a design that emphasizes comfort and prevention of sliding, Ride Designs’ Forward wheelchair seat cushion can be a great intervention for growing kids, seniors or clients who have sustained a stroke, brain injury or incomplete spinal cord injury.
The Forward’s design surrounds the pelvis with supportive contours while reducing pressure around at-risk bony prominences. The result is improved postural control without compromising skin protection. The cushion is made to help
keep hips level and posi-
tioned at the back of the
chair, which can enhance
the wheelchair user’s seated stability. Now the Forward cushion is available in four additional sizes — 14x18", 15x15", 15x17" and 17x17" —
in response to industry demand.
