 ResMed Hires First-Ever CTO
Bobby Ghoshal joins the company after serving as COO of Brightree, will help the company further establish itself in

Sleep and respira- tory equipment maker ResMed has hired onetime Brightree Chief Operating Officer Bobby Ghoshal to serve as its first-ever Chief Technology Officer.

sales director for Compass Health, following his recent gig as NE regional vice president at Golden Technologies.
Peter Kaplan joins the growing team at Compass Health as well, coming aboard as the vice president of product management. Kaplan has 27 years of product and marketing manage- ment behind him at organizations including Philips Healthcare, Affymetrix and Foresight Science and Technology.

The spate of new hires follows a period of booming expansion for the company, which has acquired four other health businesses in a little more than a year. Compass Health Brands now comprises Carex Health Brands, Roscoe Medical, ProBasics and Meridian.
Additionally, Compass Health has more than doubled its field presence. n

digital health platforms, as well as invest in and develop emerging health technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Ghoshal more than 25 years’ experience in IT and high tech has most recently focused on the HME industry. Since 2016, he has served as the COO of post-acute software company Brightree, which ResMed acquired for $800 million in 2016, and prior to that, he served as ResMed’s vice president of IT from 2012 to 2016.
“Bobby has played several key roles in ResMed’s emergence as a world-leading connected health company this past decade, and we’re excited to appoint him as our new CTO,” said ResMed CEO Mick Farrell. “I have worked with Bobby for many years and he has incredible energy, integrity, intelligence and
an always-learning attitude that will guide ResMed’s emerging competence in artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep neural networks and other data analytics technologies to change the lives of millions more patients.”

ResMed’s Healthcare Informatics team had been led by Raj Sodhi, current president of ResMed’s software-as-a-service businesses.
“I’m excited for Bobby’s return to the ResMed team,” Sodhi said. “With Bobby as CTO, I can be fully focused on expanding the capabilities of ResMed’s SaaS solutions for out-of-hospital care, while Bobby leads the next level of tech innova- tion, investments and partnerships that will take our digital health capabilities to new frontiers, for the ultimate benefit of patients, physicians, providers and payers.”

tion, Bachenheimer will
expand her work in government relations, legisla- tive and regulatory matters on behalf of the Texas- based law firm. The office is slated to open June 1.
“We are excited that Cara is joining our firm. Cara’s expertise, coupled with our core practice areas, creates an exciting synergy,” said Jeff Baird, chair of Brown & Fortunato’s National Health Care Group, which works on behalf of various healthcare clients, including those in the HME industry.
Bachenheimer’s first client will be Invacare, where she served as senior vice president of government relations for longer than 14 years.
“I appreciate Invacare’s continued support as I step away to help other businesses understand the impact of and help shape future health care legis- lation and regulations,” Bachenheimer said. “I am pleased to continue to support Invacare’s govern- ment relations and lobbying efforts as a consultant for the company.”
