AI adoption
Agencies should look for an open architecture that connects AI with their existing solutions

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE REQUIRES a new set of tools and a fundamentally new way of programming computers. All the steps from managing and labeling data and orchestrating the training of machine learning algorithms should be accessible for developers via an open architecture. In addition, a low-code interface throughout the AI life cycle makes it possible for even the least technical operators to build world-class AI solutions.
The problems that government needs to solve are often massive and complex. For example, huge and varied volumes of data
are necessary for agencies to respond to natural and man-made
disasters. It’s impossible for humans to glean insights from information at the scale and speed that machines can, which means AI is a perfect fit for government challenges.
A turnkey, scalable AI solution
The optimal strategy is to consolidate AI tools and choose a platform that supports all of them. That approach requires less work than stitching together disparate tools, but more importantly, it ensures that those tools will work seamlessly together. As a result, agencies can streamline the way AI models are trained and deployed, and they can benefit from the expertise of the vendor’s team of AI experts. The goal is a turnkey AI solution that will scale in response to agencies’ needs.
Similarly, keeping data in stovepipes results in less-than- accurate AI models and can jeopardize an agency’s ability to achieve its mission. AI is not a “set it and forget it” technology.
It needs to continually get smarter by interacting with real-world data. That’s why centralizing the training and deployment of AI models ultimately leads to better security and accuracy while an open architecture ensures interoperability with other technology.
Solving government’s toughest problems
By providing a full AI life cycle in one platform, Clarifai speeds the ability to extract value from unstructured image, video, document and audio data. We collect and automatically annotate data from sensors and other devices to generate trustworthy AI predictions. Our platform is flexible enough to run wherever the data is — in the cloud, in data centers, on low-power edge devices or even in air gapped environments.
Before founding Clarifai, I earned a Ph.D. in AI while working with some of the pioneers of the field, who ingrained in me the importance of innovating around cutting-edge AI. At Clarifai, we’ve built a research team that has over 170,000 citations. We provide invaluable support to our clients because we not only have the best platform to solve their toughest problems, we have the best people to tackle those challenges as well.
