Expanding the cloud. Methvin has greatly expanded access to commer- cial cloud solutions for the Navy and Marine Corps by creating a digital marketplace that now offers solutions from 30 providers and allows person- nel to evaluate options and compare costs. Thanks to Methvin’s efforts,
the marketplace has spurred a 400% increase in adoption of commercial cloud services across participating agencies; helped the Navy become the first service to transition to cloud- based enterprise resource planning products, which process more than
$70 billion in annual transactions; and enabled the Fleet Numerical Meteorol- ogy and Oceanography Center to col- lect hurricane data in real time while significantly reducing costs.
