Expanding the team to deliver smarter solutions
A “rose is a rose is a rose,” according to the famous
poem, but that adage doesn’t hold for IT professionals. The reason: What works for one sector may be completely inappropriate for the next.
This is especially true for software and solutions related to security, backup and recovery, and data management and mobility. The best way to ensure a vendor has your agency’s best interests in mind is to seek out one that actively engages with the public sector—but it
isn’t enough to simply work with vendors that count agencies among its customers. True success comes when you’re working with a vendor that puts agency experts right into the product development mix. This is the reason that Rubrik, the Multi- Cloud Data ControlTM Company, this summer will introduce a new advisory board designed to bring the voices of the public sector into its product life cycle.
“It’s a necessary investment to be a better partner with state and federal governments,” explained Rubrik CEO Bipul Sinha. “When we conceived this, we wanted to build a board staffed with experts
who have years of experience working with different agencies, service providers and system integrators who have served the federal market for a very long time. These experts will have the ability to tap into their knowledge and understanding of how the industry is evolving, what its needs are, and how Rubrik can help fulfill the needs and build products and technologies to serve the market the best.”
The advisory board will function as “connective tissue,” helping
the Rubrik team understand the challenges, opportunities and technology evolution, as well as customer problems and issues so it can quickly and successfully build solutions for the industry as a whole, Sinha added.
COVID and Data Growth: Colliding Worlds, Intersecting Needs
The first addition to Rubrik’s advisory board is Yogesh Khanna, most recently General Dynamics Information Technology’
Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. Khanna will help the company expand
the advisory board roster going forward. He and the Rubrik team, which includes Tom Kennedy, Rubrik’s VP of Public Sector,
have already identified a list of potential board members and expect to issue invitations and welcome new members within the next 30 to 45 days.
We are cultivating the board with intention to help the public sector grow and manage change as quickly as possible, Khanna said. “We want to begin adding additional members that represent the broader market. We break down the public sector into four primary segments—defense, intel, civil, and state and local. We’d like ample representation from each segment because the markets are unique in their own ways.”
Khanna said he joined the board because Rubrik is a disruptive company with a strong value proposition and an even stronger vision to help the industry as a whole. The company is extremely well funded, backed by the best
in the industry, and led by the one of the top management teams coming out of Silicon Valley—And it has demonstrated a commitment
