Enhancing insights through data analysis makes it easier for agencies to improve their service offerings because they’re more informed and making better decisions.
must view all their environments from a single governance perspective when they’re trying to adhere to a variety of security and privacy regulations.
The future of data analytics
A data element that’s not important today might become very important a month from now, so agencies should consider holding onto as much data as possible by moving it
into inexpensive storage, whether it is cloud- based or on-premises, and then running advanced analytics to see what’s there.
Think about forensic investigations: Forty years ago, few people knew
what DNA was. But then technologies advanced, and DNA came into wider use in criminal cases. If an investigator had had the foresight to save evidence decades ago, it might have valuable, extractable
information that could solve a cold case today.
There is always untapped information in data and the potential for future technology to unlock even more insights. The data revolution — and cloud’s role in it — is just beginning.
