CITIZEN ENGAGEMENT
A citizen-centric approach can lower the cost of delivering services without compromising the quality of those services.
optimal citizen experience.
In addition, IT organizations should
not shy away from implementing the best technology to deliver the best experience, even if it is not the cheapest technology.
However, privacy continues to be a big concern for citizens, and that concern
is hampering the government’s ability to gather data that is relevant to missions such as health care, education and
transportation. Recent data breaches have not instilled a sense of confidence in citizens, and until they are fully confident that their data will be protected, they will continue to be reluctant to share sensitive information about their health, income and other aspects of their personal lives with the government.
Fortunately, agencies are developing strict policies designed to ensure the
highest level of data security, and now they must convince and reassure citizens that their personal data will indeed be protected so that the government can deliver a citizen experience that rivals that of the private sector.
