It’s become something of a mantra for this administration: Government should embrace the startup culture of Silicon Valley. Fail fast, iterate constantly, focus on the customer, and always bring energy to the task.
That culture hasn’t completely taken hold yet, to be sure. (And this community has virtues of its own to celebrate.) But when it comes to change agents who bring big ideas, deep devotion and exceptional effort, federal IT has them in abundance.
Each year, FCW’s Rising Star awards honor early-career individuals who are overachieving in their current roles and distinguishing themselves
as the likely leaders of tomorrow. Nominations come from all corners of federal IT as peers and managers point out those who are going above and beyond to make government perform better. And as this year’s 30 winners make clear, there’s plenty of talent rising through the ranks.
