AI’s widespread, transformative impact
AI is designed to deal with massive amounts of data, and the technology improves as it processes that data. The reality is that AI will have an effect on everything agencies do and not just on high-profile activities. For example, using AI to determine when predictive maintenance is necessary on military vehicles or equipment can save a significant amount of money over the
costs involved in fixing something after it fails.
Moreover, the pandemic has dramatically changed how citizens engage with government and how employees engage with one another. AI can have a transformative impact on remote work
by empowering people to collaborate more effectively and by strengthening cybersecurity.
In the not-too-distant future, transactions of all kinds will become digital and nearly
everything that moves will become autonomous. We will need to be vigilant to safeguard the integrity of all that activity. AI’s ability to comb through data and give us the insights we need to respond in real time will make those advancements possible.
