BADGES IN THE EU. Digital badges are going global with a new partnership between Credly and Digitalme (part of the City & Guilds Group), a UK- and EU-based provider of digital credentialing services. The two companies plan to
“expand the use of digital credentials
to recognize skills and talents” in the European Union, according to a news release. In addition, Credly is supporting Digitalme’s operations with a dedicated European-based data center; the new infrastructure will also help European organizations comply with EU data privacy requirements. Students at Virginia’s Community Colleges have a new tool to help identify career goals and navigate
an academic path that leads to on-
time degree completion. As part of a strategic goal to triple the number of credentials earned by the year 2021, the system is rolling out EAB Navigate to augment onboarding and advising support for its 252,000 students. The platform uses data such as study habits, work commitments and personal needs to create a course schedule that works best for the individual student, and provides a nudge when a student needs to take action to stay on track.
