UNH Named Safest School in the U.S.
The University of New Hampshire (UNH) in Durham has been ranked as the safest school in the U.S. by Alarms.org.
Using crime statistics from the FBI and the
National Center for Education, Alarms.org completed a study on the Top 100 safest schools in the U.S. based on off- and on- campus crime rates.
According to the study, UNH had the lowest numbers of local crime incidents, on-campus violent crimes, drug-related charges and crimes against women. After weighting the various statistics, the top New Hampshire public university turned out to be the best place in the country to stay safe on campus.
The top three schools were rounded out by Brigham Young University in Idaho and Oakland University in Michigan.
UNH was the only New Hampshire school to make the list, which can be seen here: www.alarms.org/safest-colleges-2017.
