Mergers & Acquisitions
■ In December 2016, Protective Indus- trial Products announced its 20th acqui- sition with the acquisition of Century Glove, Inc., which for more than 75 years has manufactured work gloves and acces- sories in the United States. “Century Glove will definitely add some unique products
to our line and will add capacity for U.S. domestic-manufactured personal protec- tive equipment,” said Joe Milot, president of PIP. “We plan to move this production to our McHenry Manufacturing facility in Bluffton, Indiana, the home of the most versatile production facility in the USA for the unique needs of the safety industry.”
“For us, it’s more capacity and more new products, which fit perfectly into our flex- ible production model,” said Steve Robbins, president of PIP’s domestic manufactur- ing divisions, PR Industries and McHenry Manufacturing.
The acquisition represents a personal milestone for PIP and Milot, who left Cen- tury Glove in 1984 to start PIP with long- time partner Wellson Tao more than 30 years ago.
■ U.S. HealthWorks, one of the larg- est operators of occupational health and urgent care centers in the United States, announced it has acquired Twin Cities Occupational Health and Rehabilitation in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan
area. Twin Cities Occupational Health and Rehabilitation operates three occupational health centers in the Twin Cities area, offer- ing services such as work injury care, physi- cal therapy, drug and alcohol testing, and pre-employment screening. This expansion doubled U.S. HealthWorks’ clinic count in Minnesota to six centers and brought the total number of its medical and work site clinics nationwide to 247 in 21 states.
“Twin Cities Occupational Health and Rehabilitation is well-known for provid- ing excellent care to patients,” said Joseph Mallas, president and CEO of U.S. Health- Works. “We look forward to having the team become part of the U.S. HealthWorks family, allowing us to serve more patients in the Minneapolis-St. Paul region. We are excited about this addition to our organi- zation because employers across the U.S. continue to express their wish to have us expand our footprint, and we are striving to meet their goals.”
Terms of the transaction weren’t dis- closed.
